Homemade Pies

Who said homemade pies are a south-of-the-border tradition?  Sugar Dust Bakery‘s delicious homemade pies are made using the best quality ingredients available, which makes them a hit at every meal. Available in two sized, our homemade pies are baked in 9″ shells and 5″ for individual servings. Special orders are available for the holiday seasons. Order ahead to avoid disappointment.

We encourage you to visit us at 64 John St., located in the lovely town of Port Hope, Ontario, just over an hour east of Toronto. We are open 10 am-5 pm from Wednesday to Friday. 9 am-5 pm on Saturday, 10 am-5 pm Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday. While you are visiting, plan to stay a while and enjoy a freshly made cup of coffee, and espresso or cappuccino, or, if tea is what you prefer, we have several teas to choose from.Be sure to book ahead for traditional afternoon tea on Sundays, featuring finger sandwiches, freshly made scones with preserves, a sweet tray and your choice of tea or coffee.

Date Squares, known in some circles as Matrimonial Cake, got it’s wedding-related name from the smooth and rough textures that are said to reflect the contrast between the easy and difficult times of marriage. Who knew?
